Your Pelvic Health Specialist
Jobeth McKoon OTR/L, PCES
I’m Jobeth McKoon, the face and the heart behind Pelvic Health By Mama OT. I have undergraduate degree in psychology and a masters degree in Occupational Therapy where I focused my energy on mental health and physical rehabilitation. Beyond schooling I have taken copious amounts of continuing education in pelvic health including Holistic Treatment of the Pregnant Body and Holistic Treatment of the Postpartum Body from the Birth Healing Institute. I have been in the pelvic health space as a Pelvic Health Occupational Therapist since 2021 and in the rehabilitative space as an OT since 2017. Over the last few years I have come to find more of myself through my work and through my passion for helping other women.
My goal with every client is to build a nurturing and trusting relationship, as a provider, as a teacher, and co-creator of their therapy experience. I use a person centered, trauma informed and intuitive approach to care. Your goals are my goals!
My passion in life other than my children and my family is to be able to guide women along their pelvic health, pregnancy, and postpartum journeys. I believe with my whole heart that women are uniquely capable of caring for one another, and it is our job to pour love into those around us. Part of healing is feeling seen, heard, respected and loved. Pelvic health is whole body health and often includes mind, body and spiritual components. It is a privilege for me to be able to serve my community of women in such beautiful and meaningful ways.
Birth Doula
My why:
I became a birth doula because I had a client who had endured significant medical traumas in her past and had a hard time trusting in medical providers. She was referred to me for pelvic therapy and birth prep for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). After seeing each other for a few sessions she indicated that her midwives recommended a birth doula to help her feel safe and to advocate for her wants and needs during labor. This recommendation was frightening to her, as allowing herself to build trust with another provider during such a vulnerable time felt like too much. At that moment, my intuition said out loud, “what if I did it? What if I was your doula? Would that feel more doable?” Her answer was a resounding “YES!!” So, that folks is why I became a birth doula in January of 2025.
Becoming a doula has been like seeing the culmination of my hard work as a pelvic floor therapist out in the real world ❤️ Knowing where each of these mama’s bodies started and witnessing all that they worked so hard for, come to fruition! Happy, healthy, supported, and loved, mama and baby- that is always the goal. I am so beyond humbled to be entrusted with the care of so many incredible individuals and their families.
Thank you J’Ann for allowing me to share this precious photo and thank you to her adorable daughter for taking it!
